The Most Beautiful Spring Gardens in the World

The Most Beautiful Spring Gardens in the World

Apr 1, 2012

You may be thinking that any spring garden is the most beautiful garden in the world.  As gardeners we are always excited when spring arrives.  I walk around my yard daily just to see which plants are poking their head out of the ground today.  And what brings more delight than discovering a crocus blooming in a winter ravaged yard?  But as exciting as my spring garden is to me, it doesn’t hold a candle to the spring gardens at Kuekenhof Gardens in the Netherlands.  What a feast for the eyes!

I can only hope that my spring garden will one day come close to just a tiny corner of this most beautiful spring garden in the world.

The beauty of spring has arrived, and nowhere more so than in the Netherlands at the world famous Keukenhof Gardens. Situated between Amsterdam and The Hague in the Bulb region, the Keukenhof (roughly pronounced Koo-ken-hoff) boasts more than 7 million flower bulbs planted by hand.

Open yearly from March through May, this photographer’s paradise is the largest flower garden in the world with nearly 80 acres of magnificent blooms, in 1600 different varieties.

In this slideshow you’ll see why millions flock to the Keukenhof Gardens to catch a glimpse of the true wonders of spring.

This place is definitely going on my list of must-visit gardens before I die.  I think I would be on a continual high of colors and smells.  Is this the most beautiful spring garden in the world?  I would have to say, “Without a Doubt” unless you can direct me to one better.
